Zambia Primate Project (ZPP) is one of the world’s most successful primate rescue and release projects.

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release back to the wild monkeys and baboons that are victims of the illegal wildlife trade in Zambia.

The primates we rescue have suffered immense cruelty at the hands of humans, and our aim is to give them a second chance of freedom back in the wild.

To date our team members have rescued and released over 750 primates in Zambia*.

* This includes primates rescued and released when ZPP team members were part of the Lunga Lushwishi Wildlife Project which operated in Zambia from 2002 to 2009 with funding from the Born Free Foundation.
